MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE TEMPLES:

BUDGET : under $10 per person (bike rental + Tuktuk)

If you plan on spending a few days in Siem Reap, we HIGHLY recommend to explore the temples with mountain bikes. We prepared a PDF explaining where to rent the bicycles, and a map of our favourite rides, including some parts in the jungle. we LOVE it.

PHARE: THE CAMBODIAN CIRCUS

BUDGET : from $18 per person

You can’t visit Siem Reap and not go to see a Phare show. This internationally renowned human circus is absolutely amazing. they have a few (4?5?6?) different shows and all the ones we saw were great.  Great plus? 100% of the profits are financing a primary and a circus schools in the province of Battambang.

POINT OF INTERESTS

We are not going to mention visiting the temples, as it’s too obvious (Still, it’s THE must do thing in Siem Reap). Here are some other ideas:

APOPO VISITORS CENTER

BUDGET : $5 per person

Apopo is an NGO that helps detecting landmines in several countries, including Cambodia. But they do it in a singular way. They train “Hero Rats” to detect them! The tour is fascinating, and it’s for a good cause, too.

SATCHA – សច្ចៈ

BUDGET : Free

Satcha is a Handicrafts Incubation Center. They train local artisans to the traditional Cambodian handicraft techniques. While you visit it, you can see many of them at work and discover their art. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and once again, it’s for a great cause!
